Valerie M. Sargenthas a passion for bringing vitality to individuals and organizations. She began her career 30 years ago as a leasing consultant in the multifamily industry, guiding her career through the years toward speaking, training, marketing, consulting, and executive coaching. Valerie became an entrepreneur in 2005, working independently with private clients as President of her own company, Valerie M. Sargent, Inc., and collaborating separately with visionary and former colleague, Yvette Poole. Together they help businesses achieve their goals and reach exciting new heights. She serves as President of Yvette Poole & Associates, and is an inspirational national speaker, trainer, and executive consultant working with YPA’s clients to unlock the dynamic power within their associates.

Emotional Intelligence in Action

Valerie is a Level I and Level II TalentSmart Emotional Intelligence (EI/EQ) Certified Trainer, a certification obtained in February 2013. As an Emotional Intelligence Strategist, she works within any industry and is able to expertly help your employees increase their EQ, managing their emotions and relationships better on the job for maximum performance. She has full-day, targeted EQ training classes available for Mastering Emotional Intelligence (Level 1 and Level 2), complete with EQ appraisal, and serves as an EQ Executive Coach for companies who have a goal of enhancing their associates’ business, communication, teamwork, and leadership skills.

As a national speaker and Emotional Intelligence Strategist, her signature message “It’s in the Pause”®  series enables her to educate others on the need for Self-Management skills to preserve positive relationships in the workplace and beyond. Valerie also helps those going through stressful legal trials to prepare for the courtroom with her targeted EQ Trial Consultation, ensuring the best possible witness performance on the stand.

In an effort to help people at a deeper level, Valerie has obtained a healing certification in 2022 to support those dealing with challenging patterns, limiting beliefs, emotional blocks, grief, mental struggle, or emotional trauma. This epigenetics-based healing method utilizes powerful techniques to help her clients release DNA and lifetime blockages at a cellular level that they’ve been holding within their bodies for decades or longer. The Soul Awakening Method (TM) produces powerful and tangible results. This energy healing process clears challenging patterns and is making a meaningful difference in the lives of her clients, allowing them to step into their full potential.

In an effort to reach a broader audience, Valerie has released online EQ-based classes through the Entrepreneur Now Network, which are published on various ENN partner learning platforms. Watch for her own online EQ coursework and coaching programs focused on individuals to be released soon!

Broadband in Multifamily

In 2008 Valerie began working with a private client, the Independent Multi-Family Communications Council (IMCC), a non-profit trade association representing independent broadband providers to the FCC and the multifamily industry. Acting as their Managing Director, Valerie handled all operational and business functions on behalf of the organization, including the implementation of an annual educational and networking conference for independent broadband providers and their vendor partners working specifically in the MDU segment. In February of 2016, IMCC shifted its membership into the new trade association, Multifamily Broadband Council, with an additional focus on manufacturers and new broadband technologies entering the multifamily space. Valerie was delighted to be named Executive Director for MBC upon its formation and concluded her contracted work with that group upon their dissolution and member transfer to WISPA in December 2020.

Valerie started working with her private client, Broadband Communities magazine, in February 2021. She serves as Executive Consultant and Multifamily News Correspondent for BBC. Valerie co-writes a multifamily tech-focused column and has an active role in helping plan their annual conference. She is in charge of planning the Multifamily track for the Broadband Communities Summit, and she is loving her work with BBC.

Real Estate Investing

A background in the multifamily industry and an entrepreneur’s spirit led to a natural affinity for Real Estate and an interest in investing. Valerie aligned with a Real Estate Investor Team out of Chicago, and she is affiliated with the most comprehensive real estate investing education company in the U.S. She is passionate about helping others learn financial literacy and the power of investing in real estate, and is currently adding students, marketers and investors to our Southern California team of investors. Valerie participates with the leadership team in Orange County as an Independent Contracted Marketer, connecting students with education taught by practitioner instructors, both online and live, along with professional coaching available with the education. Online weekly study groups are available for students to digest the education and take it from the online classroom to the streets. Wellness

Valerie knows that nutrition fuels our bodies and brains, and of course plant-based supplements are a MUCH better alternative to synthetic vitamins. On the Personal Side

Although raised in the Midwest, Valerie has happily resided in Orange County, CA for over twenty years and loves living near the coast. She volunteered for six and a half years with the same youth for CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates), an organization that advocates for abused and/or neglected children, and encourages others to help with that organization. Valerie is always actively searching for ways to give back, and has been supporting The Locator Foundation, which helps reunite people with lost loved ones.

Most recently, Valerie was nominated to participate in the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Man & Woman of the Year Campaign in 2022. She and her team, Team Purpose, raised funds for advocacy and blood cancer research. Valerie surpassed her personal goal of raising $25,000, and on June 11, 2022 at the awards gala, it was announced that her team collectively raised the most funds for their area! Valerie was announced as the LLS Woman of the Year – Orange County/Inland Empire, and she is so happy to have made an impact on the fight against cancer. Her fundraising campaign was dedicated to her nephew, Steven Wilson, whom the family lost in 2010 to PTLD, a type of non-Hodgkins lymphoma. His legacy continues with the sharing of his story and good work being done in his name. LLS asked Valerie to be the Chair of the 2023 OC/IE Leadership Committee for the Visionaries of the Year campaign.

For peace, Valerie loves the ocean … and for balance, music stirs her soul. Not a day goes by that she doesn’t find something to laugh about!
